Spring football: time to answer questions
UNC: Spring practice starts: March 15. Spring game: April 10. Question: Is Bryn Renner ready to supplant T.J. Yates at quarterback? T.J. Yates has started for the better part of three seasons for coach Butch Davis, but the senior's decision making has cost the Heels, especially late in the 2009 season. With one of the nation's best defenses, UNC doesn't need much on offense, but what it does need is fewer turnovers. (Raleigh News & Observer)

1-It sure helps a great defense when the offense contributes though
2-Renner is playing baseball this spring.

Didn't know Renner was playing baseball, that's not really a good idea is it?
My opinion on the QB situation is this. Everything on this team now is ready to win. We have an improved offensive line, a #1 WR now in Little, a good running game, and an outstanding defense.
It's on the QB this year, there are no excuses. Yates has to lead us to a championship. If he struggles early on Butch has to make the switch, he can't give games away this year. The schedule is brutal obviously but if Renner is ready and TJ isn't playing well Butch has to give him an opportunity I think.

I think we are about to have a great recruiting year including some big time five stars at RB and QB.

Already hauled in a big time QB. The promise of playing time will also be a big recruiting carrot for those HS tailbacks looking for a glory.

The vastly improved OLine should yield some big time RB talent imo

Here's hoping a vastly improved O line opens some gaping holes in 2010 for Draughn, Houston, Little and Co.
You would be amazed how much better our QB looks if he is handing off the fooball for 150 yards a game.
